Armenian Stonehenge
Armenian Stonehenge, also known as Zorats Karer or Karahunj, is a prehistoric archaeological site located in Armenia. It features a complex of large standing stones, some of which have holes drilled into them, believed to date back to around 3,500 BC. The site is thought to have been used for astronomical observations and rituals.
The arrangement of the stones resembles that of Stonehenge in England, leading to comparisons between the two sites. Zorats Karer is situated near the city of Sisian and is considered one of the oldest observatories in the world, reflecting the advanced understanding of astronomy by ancient Armenians.
