Ariel Castro
Ariel Castro was a former school bus driver from Cleveland, Ohio, who gained notoriety for his criminal actions. He was convicted in 2013 for the kidnapping and imprisonment of three women—Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry, and Gina DeJesus—in his home over a period of several years. His case drew significant media attention due to the horrific nature of the crimes and the resilience of the survivors.
In May 2013, the women managed to escape, leading to Castro's arrest. He was charged with multiple counts of kidnapping and rape. In August 2013, he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Castro died in prison in September 2013.
