Arid Desert
An arid desert is a dry region characterized by very low rainfall, typically less than 10 inches (25 cm) per year. These areas often have extreme temperatures, with hot days and cool nights. The lack of moisture limits vegetation, resulting in sparse plant life, primarily consisting of drought-resistant species like cacti and shrubs.
Deserts can be found on every continent and include famous examples such as the Sahara Desert in Africa and the Mojave Desert in North America. Despite their harsh conditions, deserts are home to unique wildlife adapted to survive with minimal water, including reptiles, rodents, and various insects.
