Arctinus of Miletus
Arctinus of Miletus was an ancient Greek epic poet, active around the 8th century BCE. He is best known for his works, including the "Aethiopis," which is a continuation of Homer's Iliad, and the "Meleager," which tells the story of the hero Meleager from Calydon. His poetry contributed to the rich tradition of Greek epic literature.
Although only fragments of his works survive today, Arctinus is considered one of the earliest poets to expand on the themes and characters introduced by Homer. His influence is evident in later epic poetry, and he played a significant role in shaping the narrative style of ancient Greek literature.
