Arch Of Titus
The Arch of Titus is a triumphal arch located on the Via Sacra in Rome, Italy. It was constructed around 81 AD to commemorate the victories of the Roman general Titus during the Jewish War, particularly the capture of Jerusalem in 70 AD. The arch features detailed reliefs that depict scenes from the triumphal procession, including the carrying of the Menorah.
Standing at about 15 meters high, the arch is made of travertine stone and is an important example of Roman architecture. It served as a model for later arches, influencing structures like the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. The Arch of Titus remains a significant historical monument, symbolizing the power of the Roman Empire.
