Antron McCray
Antron McCray is one of the individuals known as the Central Park Five, a group of five Black and Latino teenagers wrongfully convicted of a crime in 1989. The case involved the assault and rape of a jogger in Central Park, New York City. McCray, along with the others, was coerced into giving false confessions, which later led to their convictions.
In 2002, the convictions of McCray and the other members of the Central Park Five were vacated after the real perpetrator, Matias Reyes, confessed to the crime. This revelation highlighted issues of racial bias and wrongful convictions in the criminal justice system.
