Anomodontia
Anomodontia is a group of extinct reptiles that belonged to the larger clade of Parareptilia. These creatures lived during the late Paleozoic and early Mesozoic eras, primarily in what is now known as Africa, Asia, and North America. Anomodonts are characterized by their unique dental structures, which often included specialized teeth for herbivorous diets.
The most well-known members of Anomodontia are the dicynodonts, which were small to medium-sized animals resembling modern-day mammals. They had robust bodies, short limbs, and distinctive beaks, allowing them to efficiently consume plant material. Anomodonts played a significant role in their ecosystems before their eventual extinction.
