dicynodonts
Dicynodonts were a group of extinct, herbivorous reptiles that lived during the late Permian to the end of the Triassic period, around 260 to 200 million years ago. They belonged to the clade Synapsida, which also includes mammals. Dicynodonts are characterized by their unique skull structure, featuring two large tusks and a beak-like mouth, which helped them feed on tough vegetation.
These creatures varied in size, with some being as small as a rabbit and others as large as a rhinoceros. Dicynodonts were widespread, with fossils found in Africa, Asia, and South America. Their adaptability allowed them to thrive in various environments before their eventual extinction.
