Anoa
The Anoa is a small, forest-dwelling bovine native to the islands of Indonesia, particularly Sumatra and Borneo. It is also known as the dwarf buffalo and belongs to the genus Bubalus. Anoa are characterized by their short stature, with adults typically standing about 1 meter tall at the shoulder. They have a stocky build, dark brown to black fur, and curved horns.
There are two species of Anoa: the mountain anoa and the lowland anoa. Both species are herbivorous and primarily feed on grasses, leaves, and fruits. Anoa are considered endangered due to habitat loss and hunting, making conservation efforts crucial for their survival.
