Annie Armstrong
Annie Armstrong was a prominent Southern Baptist missionary born in 1850 in Baltimore, Maryland. She is best known for her work in promoting missions and advocating for the needs of the poor and marginalized. Armstrong played a crucial role in establishing the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering, which supports North American missions.
In addition to her fundraising efforts, Armstrong was a key figure in the formation of the Woman's Missionary Union (WMU) in 1888. This organization aimed to mobilize women for mission work and has since become an essential part of the Southern Baptist Convention's outreach efforts. Armstrong passed away in 1938, leaving a lasting legacy in missionary work.
