Anne of Cleves
Anne of Cleves was a German princess born in 1515, known for her brief marriage to King Henry VIII of England. She was the fourth wife of Henry, who sought a political alliance with her family. Their marriage took place in January 1540 but was annulled just six months later, primarily due to Henry's dissatisfaction with her appearance.
Despite the annulment, Anne received a generous settlement and was given the title of the King’s Sister. She remained in England and enjoyed a comfortable life, becoming friends with Henry and his children. Anne passed away in 1557.
