Animal Groups
Animal groups, also known as animal classifications, categorize animals based on shared characteristics. These groups can be broad, like mammals, birds, or reptiles, or more specific, such as canines (which include dogs and wolves) or felids (which include cats and lions). Each group helps scientists and researchers understand the relationships and behaviors of different species.
Within these groups, animals can also be classified into smaller units called families, genera, and species. For example, the family of bears includes different species like the grizzly bear and the polar bear. This classification system aids in studying biodiversity and conservation efforts.
