Anglo-Dutch Wars
The Anglo-Dutch Wars were a series of conflicts fought between the Kingdom of England and the Dutch Republic during the 17th century. There were three main wars, occurring in 1652-1654, 1665-1667, and 1672-1674. These wars primarily stemmed from competition over trade routes and colonial dominance.
The first war began due to disputes over maritime trade, while the second war saw significant naval battles, including the famous Battle of the Medway. The third war was part of a larger conflict involving France. Ultimately, the wars resulted in shifts in naval power and trade control in Europe.
