Ancient Anyang
Ancient Anyang is a historical city in northern China, known for its significance during the Shang Dynasty (c. 1600–1046 BCE). It served as one of the last capitals of the Shang and is famous for its archaeological sites, including the discovery of oracle bones, which are among the earliest forms of Chinese writing.
The site of Yinxu, located near Anyang, was the first confirmed archaeological site of the Shang Dynasty. Excavations have revealed royal tombs, palaces, and artifacts that provide insight into the culture, religion, and daily life of the Shang people, making Anyang a crucial location for understanding ancient Chinese civilization.
