Anabasis
"Anabasis" is a historical account written by the ancient Greek soldier and historian Xenophon. It narrates the journey of a group of Greek mercenaries, known as the Ten Thousand, who fought for Cyrus the Younger in his attempt to seize the Persian throne. After Cyrus's defeat at the Battle of Cunaxa, the mercenaries found themselves stranded deep in enemy territory and had to navigate their way back to Greece.
The text details their challenges, including hostile encounters, difficult terrain, and the struggle for leadership. "Anabasis" is not only a military narrative but also a reflection on loyalty, survival, and the human spirit in the face of adversity.
