Amílcar Cabral
Amílcar Cabral was a prominent African revolutionary leader born on September 12, 1924, in Guinea-Bissau. He played a crucial role in the struggle for independence from Portuguese colonial rule in the 1960s. As a founding member of the African Party for the Independence of Guinea and Cape Verde (PAIGC), Cabral was instrumental in organizing resistance and mobilizing support for the liberation movement.
Cabral was also an intellectual and a skilled orator, emphasizing the importance of culture and identity in the fight for freedom. He was assassinated on January 20, 1973, but his legacy continues to inspire movements for independence and social justice across Africa and beyond.
