Alp Tigin
Alp Tigin was a prominent military leader and the founder of the Ghaznavid dynasty in the late 10th century. Originally a slave, he rose through the ranks to become a trusted commander under the Samanid Empire. His leadership and military skills helped him establish control over parts of present-day Afghanistan and northern India.
After gaining independence from the Samanids, Alp Tigin laid the groundwork for a dynasty that would expand significantly under his successors, particularly Mahmud of Ghazni. His reign marked the beginning of a new era in the region, characterized by military conquests and cultural exchanges.
