Alogliptin
Alogliptin is a medication used to help manage blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes. It belongs to a class of drugs called DPP-4 inhibitors, which work by increasing the levels of incretin hormones. These hormones help the body produce more insulin when needed and reduce the amount of sugar released by the liver.
Alogliptin is typically taken once daily, with or without food. It is often prescribed alongside diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control. Common side effects may include headache, nausea, and upper respiratory infections, but serious side effects are rare.
