Alexios IV Angelos
Alexios IV Angelos was a Byzantine emperor who ruled from 1203 to 1204. He was the son of Isaac II Angelos and came to power during a tumultuous period marked by the Fourth Crusade. He sought to restore his father’s throne with the help of the Crusaders, promising them financial support and military assistance.
His reign was short-lived, as he struggled to fulfill his promises and faced opposition from various factions within Constantinople. In 1204, he was overthrown and ultimately killed, leading to the fall of the Byzantine Empire to the Crusaders and the establishment of the Latin Empire.
