Alexios III Angelos
Alexios III Angelos was a Byzantine Emperor who ruled from 1195 to 1203. He was born into the Angelos family and came to power after deposing his brother, Isaac II Angelos. His reign was marked by internal strife and external threats, particularly from the Crusaders and the Seljuk Turks.
During his rule, Alexios III faced significant challenges, including economic difficulties and military defeats. His inability to effectively manage these issues led to his eventual overthrow in 1203 by a coalition of Crusaders and Byzantine nobles, paving the way for the Fourth Crusade and the subsequent fall of Constantinople.
