Alexios II Komnenos
Alexios II Komnenos was a Byzantine Emperor who reigned from 1180 to 1183. He was the son of Manuel I Komnenos and became emperor at a young age after his father's death. His reign was marked by political instability and challenges from both internal factions and external threats.
During his short rule, Alexios II faced opposition from powerful nobles and the rising influence of the Latin Empire. His inability to effectively manage these challenges led to his overthrow in a coup led by Andronikos I Komnenos, resulting in his execution and the end of his reign.
