Alexander Lippisch was a German engineer and aviation pioneer known for his work in aerodynamics and aircraft design. He is best recognized for developing the Delta wing concept, which significantly influenced modern aircraft design. Lippisch's innovative ideas contributed to the development of several notable aircraft, including the Messerschmitt Me 163 Komet, the world's first operational rocket-powered fighter.
Lippisch's career spanned both World Wars, during which he worked on various experimental aircraft. After World War II, he moved to the United States, where he continued his research and contributed to the development of the Convair F-102 Delta Dagger and other advanced military aircraft.
