Alexander Herzen
Alexander Herzen was a Russian writer and political thinker born on April 6, 1812. He is often regarded as the father of Russian socialism and played a significant role in the development of revolutionary thought in Russia. Herzen's writings emphasized the importance of individual freedom and social justice, and he was a vocal critic of the autocratic regime of the Tsar.
Herzen is best known for his work "My Past and Thoughts," an autobiographical account that reflects on his life and the political climate of his time. He also founded the influential journal Kolokol, which disseminated revolutionary ideas and inspired many future Russian intellectuals and activists.
