Alborz mountain range
The Alborz mountain range is a major mountain range in northern Iran, stretching approximately 1,500 kilometers (930 miles) from the Caspian Sea in the west to the Khorasan region in the east. It is home to several notable peaks, including the highest point, Mount Damavand, which stands at 5,610 meters (18,405 feet) and is considered a dormant volcano.
The range plays a crucial role in the region's climate, creating a barrier that influences weather patterns. It is also rich in biodiversity, hosting various flora and fauna, and is a popular destination for outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, and mountaineering.
