Al Hajar Mountains
The Al Hajar Mountains are a mountain range located in northeastern Oman and the eastern part of the United Arab Emirates. Stretching approximately 700 kilometers, they are known for their rugged terrain, deep valleys, and unique geological formations. The highest peak, Jebel Shams, reaches an elevation of about 3,000 meters, making it the tallest mountain in Oman.
These mountains play a crucial role in the region's climate, as they capture moisture from the winds, leading to increased rainfall in the surrounding areas. The Al Hajar Mountains are also home to diverse flora and fauna, as well as traditional villages that reflect the rich cultural heritage of the local communities.
