Agnes of Brandenburg
Agnes of Brandenburg was a German noblewoman born around 1260. She was the daughter of Albert II, Margrave of Brandenburg and Matilda of Habsburg. Agnes became the Duchess of Saxony through her marriage to Duke Albert II of Saxony in 1285, strengthening the ties between the two regions.
Agnes played a significant role in the political landscape of her time, particularly in the Holy Roman Empire. She was known for her piety and support of religious institutions, including the founding of several monasteries. Agnes passed away in 1322, leaving a lasting legacy in her family's history.
