Agilkia
Agilkia is an island located in the Aswan High Dam reservoir in Egypt. It is known for its archaeological significance, particularly as the site of the Philae Temple, which was dedicated to the goddess Isis. The temple complex was relocated to Agilkia in the 1960s to prevent it from being submerged by the rising waters of the dam.
The island is part of the Nubian Monuments UNESCO World Heritage Site, which includes several ancient structures and temples. Visitors to Agilkia can explore the beautifully preserved temples and learn about the rich history of ancient Egyptian civilization and its religious practices.
