Aged Grappa
Aged Grappa is a type of Italian spirit made from the pomace of grapes, which includes the skins, seeds, and stems left over from winemaking. Unlike regular Grappa, which is typically clear and unaged, aged Grappa is stored in wooden barrels for a period of time, allowing it to develop complex flavors and a golden hue. The aging process can last from a few months to several years.
The wood used for aging, often oak, imparts additional characteristics to the spirit, such as vanilla, spice, and caramel notes. Aged Grappa is usually enjoyed neat, allowing drinkers to appreciate its rich aroma and smooth texture. It is often served as a digestif after meals.
