Africatown Heritage House
The Africatown Heritage House is a cultural center located in Africatown, a historic community in Mobile, Alabama. It serves to preserve and promote the rich history and contributions of the Africatown community, particularly its roots in the arrival of the Clotilda, the last known slave ship to bring enslaved Africans to the United States.
The Heritage House features exhibits, educational programs, and events that highlight the legacy of the Mende people and their descendants. It aims to foster understanding and appreciation of African American history, culture, and the ongoing impact of the transatlantic slave trade.
