Aedes Albopictus
Aedes albopictus, commonly known as the Asian tiger mosquito, is a species of mosquito native to Southeast Asia. It is easily recognized by its distinctive black and white striped legs and a white stripe down its back. This mosquito thrives in warm, humid environments and is often found in urban areas, breeding in stagnant water sources like tires, buckets, and flower pots.
In addition to being a nuisance, Aedes albopictus is a known vector for several diseases, including dengue fever, Zika virus, and chikungunya. Its ability to adapt to various environments has allowed it to spread to many parts of the world, including the Americas and Europe, raising public health concerns.
