Adonijah
Adonijah was a son of King David and Haggith, known for his ambition to claim the throne of Israel. He attempted to establish himself as king after David's reign, gathering support from influential figures. However, his efforts were thwarted when Nathan, the prophet, and Bathsheba, the mother of Solomon, intervened to ensure that Solomon would succeed David.
After Solomon became king, Adonijah sought forgiveness and peace by requesting to marry Abishag, a young woman who had cared for David in his old age. Solomon, perceiving this as a threat to his rule, ordered Adonijah's execution, solidifying his position as king.
