Adélie Penguins
Adélie Penguins are small, flightless birds native to the Antarctic region. They are easily recognized by their distinctive black and white coloring, with a white ring around their eyes. These penguins typically stand about 18 inches tall and weigh between 5 to 8 pounds. They primarily feed on krill, fish, and other small marine creatures.
These penguins are known for their social behavior, often forming large colonies during the breeding season. Adélie Penguins build nests from pebbles and lay one to three eggs. They are excellent swimmers, using their wings as flippers to navigate through the water in search of food.
