Acholi People
The Acholi people are an ethnic group primarily found in northern Uganda and parts of South Sudan. They speak the Acholi language, which is part of the Nilo-Saharan language family. Traditionally, the Acholi are known for their agricultural practices, cultivating crops like millet, sorghum, and cassava. They also have a rich cultural heritage, including music, dance, and storytelling.
Historically, the Acholi have faced challenges, particularly during the Lord's Resistance Army conflict in the late 20th century, which disrupted their communities. Despite these hardships, the Acholi people continue to maintain their cultural identity and work towards rebuilding their lives and communities.
