Abraham Kuyper
Abraham Kuyper (1837-1920) was a Dutch theologian, politician, and journalist known for his influential role in the development of Reformed theology and Christian democracy. He founded the Anti-Revolutionary Party in the Netherlands and served as Prime Minister from 1901 to 1905. Kuyper emphasized the importance of sphere sovereignty, which advocates that different areas of life, such as family, church, and state, should operate independently under God's authority.
Kuyper was also a prolific writer and established the Free University of Amsterdam in 1880, promoting a distinctively Christian approach to education. His ideas have had a lasting impact on Christian thought and continue to influence various movements within Protestantism today.
