Cornelius Van Til (1895-1987) was a Dutch-American theologian and philosopher known for developing the presuppositional approach to apologetics. He taught at Westminster Theological Seminary and emphasized the importance of a Christian worldview in understanding reality. His work aimed to demonstrate that all human thought is influenced by underlying beliefs. Van Til argued that non-Christian worldviews ultimately lead to contradictions and cannot provide a coherent basis for knowledge. He believed that the existence of God is foundational for rational thought and that the Bible is the ultimate authority in matters of truth.
