Abkhaz-Adyghe Languages
The Abkhaz-Adyghe languages are a group of Northwest Caucasian languages primarily spoken in the Caucasus region. This language family includes Abkhaz, Circassian (or Cherkess), and Kabardian, among others. These languages are known for their complex consonant systems and rich phonetic features.
Speakers of Abkhaz-Adyghe languages are mainly found in Abkhazia, Adygea, and parts of Russia. The languages have distinct grammatical structures and are often used in cultural expressions, including folklore and music. Efforts are ongoing to preserve and promote these languages amid globalization and language shift.
