Abd al-Mu'min
Abd al-Mu'min was a prominent leader and the founder of the Almohad Caliphate in the 12th century. Born in 1094 in present-day Algeria, he initially emerged as a religious reformer advocating for a return to strict Islamic principles. His leadership was marked by military conquests that expanded his influence across North Africa and into the Iberian Peninsula.
Under Abd al-Mu'min's rule, the Almohads unified various Berber tribes and established a powerful empire. He is known for promoting a centralized government and supporting cultural and intellectual advancements, which contributed to the flourishing of Islamic civilization during his reign.
