6th Earl of Ilchester
The 6th Earl of Ilchester, known as Henry Fox-Strangways, was born on March 24, 1825, and became the 6th Earl in 1858 after the death of his father, the 5th Earl. He was a member of the Whig Party and served in various political roles, including as a Member of Parliament for Somerset.
The 6th Earl was also known for his contributions to the arts and his involvement in the management of the family estate, Melbury House. He passed away on December 12, 1898, and was succeeded by his son, the 7th Earl of Ilchester.
