30 Doradus
30 Doradus, also known as the Tarantula Nebula, is a large and bright region of star formation located in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way. It is one of the most active star-forming regions known, containing a vast number of young, massive stars.
The nebula spans about 1,000 light-years across and is home to the massive star cluster R136, which includes some of the most luminous stars in the universe. 30 Doradus is an important area for astronomers studying the processes of star formation and the evolution of galaxies.
