26th Dynasty
The 26th Dynasty of ancient Egypt, also known as the Saite Period, lasted from 664 to 525 BCE. It marked a time of significant cultural revival and political stability after the Assyrian invasions. The capital was established in Sais, a city in the Nile Delta, which became a center for art, religion, and trade.
During this dynasty, rulers like Psamtik I and Necho II focused on strengthening Egypt's economy and military. They also engaged in extensive building projects, including temples and monuments, which reflected the rich artistic traditions of earlier periods. The dynasty ended with the Persian conquest led by Cambyses II.
