2012 Olympics
The 2012 Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXX Olympiad, took place in London, United Kingdom, from July 27 to August 12, 2012. This event featured over 10,000 athletes from 204 nations competing in 302 events across 26 sports. It was the third time London hosted the Olympics, having previously done so in 1908 and 1948.
The opening ceremony, directed by Danny Boyle, showcased British culture and history, while the closing ceremony celebrated the athletes and the spirit of the Games. The United States topped the medal table, followed by China and Great Britain.
