태조
태조 (Taejo) was the founder of the 조선 (Joseon) Dynasty in Korea, reigning from 1392 to 1398. His birth name was 이성계 (Yi Seong-gye), and he was a military general who played a crucial role in overthrowing the 고려 (Goryeo) Dynasty. Taejo established a new government based on Confucian principles, which significantly influenced Korean society.
During his reign, Taejo implemented various reforms to strengthen the central government and promote agricultural development. He also moved the capital to 한양 (Hanyang), modern-day 서울 (Seoul), which became the political and cultural center of Korea.
