천황
"천황" (Chunghwang) refers to the Emperor of Japan, a ceremonial figurehead and the highest authority in the Shinto religion. The position has a long history, dating back over a thousand years, and is considered a symbol of the unity of the Japanese people. The current emperor, 나루히토 (Naruhito), ascended the throne in 2019.
The role of the 천황 is largely symbolic, with no governing power. The emperor participates in various state ceremonies and rituals, representing Japan on the international stage. The imperial family, including the 황후 (Empress) and other members, plays a significant role in cultural and traditional events throughout the country.
