시모노세키 조약
The 시모노세키 조약, signed in 1895, marked the end of the 청일 전쟁 between 중국 and 일본. This treaty resulted in significant territorial and political changes, with 중국 recognizing 일본's control over 타이완 and the 펑후 제도.
Additionally, 중국 had to pay a large indemnity and grant 일본 commercial rights in several regions. The treaty highlighted 일본's emergence as a major power in East Asia and set the stage for future conflicts in the region.
