병자호란
병자호란, or the "Second Manchu Invasion of Korea," occurred between 1636 and 1637. It was a conflict between the Joseon Dynasty of Korea and the Qing Dynasty of China, which was then known as the Manchu. The invasion led to the capture of the Korean capital, Hanseong (modern-day Seoul), and significant loss of life and resources.
The war resulted in Korea becoming a tributary state to the Qing Dynasty, altering the political landscape in East Asia. The aftermath of 병자호란 had lasting effects on Korean society, including changes in military strategy and diplomatic relations with neighboring countries.
