목탄
목탄, or "wood charcoal," is a black, porous material made by heating wood in the absence of air. This process, known as pyrolysis, removes water and volatile compounds, leaving behind carbon-rich charcoal. It is commonly used as a fuel for grilling and barbecuing due to its ability to burn at high temperatures with minimal smoke.
In addition to its use in cooking, 목탄 has applications in art and industry. Artists often use it for drawing, as it produces rich, dark lines. Furthermore, it can be utilized in water purification and as a soil amendment, enhancing plant growth by improving soil structure and nutrient retention.
