갑오개혁
갑오개혁, or the Gabo Reform, was a series of political and social changes in Korea that began in 1894. It aimed to modernize the country by adopting Western-style reforms in governance, education, and military organization. The reforms were initiated during a time of internal strife and external pressure, particularly from Japan and Western powers.
The Gabo Reform led to significant changes, including the abolition of the traditional class system and the introduction of a new legal code. It also promoted the establishment of a modern bureaucracy and encouraged industrial development. However, the reforms faced resistance and were ultimately short-lived, leading to further instability in Korea.
