鬼月
"鬼月," or "Ghost Month," is a traditional observance in several East Asian cultures, particularly in Taiwan and China. It typically occurs in the seventh month of the lunar calendar, during which it is believed that the spirits of the deceased return to the living world. Families honor their ancestors by making offerings, burning incense, and preparing special meals to ensure the spirits are appeased.
During this month, many people avoid certain activities, such as moving into new homes or getting married, as these are thought to attract negative energy. Festivals and rituals, including the Zhongyuan Festival, are held to pay respect to the spirits and seek blessings for the living.
