銀閣寺
銀閣寺, or the Silver Pavilion, is a Zen temple located in Kyoto, Japan. Built in the late 15th century by Ashikaga Yoshimasa, it was designed as a retreat and a place for meditation. The temple is known for its beautiful gardens and traditional architecture, which reflect the principles of Zen Buddhism.
The structure is not actually covered in silver, despite its name. Instead, it features a simple yet elegant design, with two main buildings: the Hōjō and the Ginkaku. The surrounding gardens include a sand garden and a moss garden, showcasing the harmony between nature and architecture.
