河童
河童 (kappa) are mythical creatures from Japanese folklore, often depicted as small, humanoid beings with green skin, webbed hands and feet, and a dish-like depression on their heads that holds water. They are said to inhabit rivers and ponds, and are known for their mischievous behavior, sometimes playing tricks on humans or even attempting to drown them.
Despite their mischievous nature, 河童 are also considered protectors of waterways and agriculture. They are associated with rice cultivation and are believed to help farmers by ensuring good harvests. In some stories, they can befriend humans, especially if offered cucumbers, their favorite food.
